The fragility and strength of both natural and urban materials are exposed within the exclusive men's jewellery collection from British designer, Chris Campbell and his Assassin range. The 'Acid' cufflinks are an example of this concept from Campbell who has become synonymous with the use of varying jewellery textures and designs.
The 'Acid' cufflinks are constructed from 925 silver and sit with a rectangular profile at 1.5cm long, 1.2cm wide and 3mm deep. This plate is connected by a single chain link to a gently tapered bar. These two pieces sit 1cm apart, so, have been designed to sit neatly between the cuff of a shirt sleeve.
It is the surface and finish of the silver that individualises these men's silver cufflinks. Campbell has designed the surface of the 925 silver to be degraded with the use of acid. This technique texturises the high shine polished surface of the plate with indentations and an uneven edge.
