A Brighton based jewellery designer, Chris Hawkins, has created a unique and innovative jewellery range for the modern day men. Inspired by bold natural textures and designs, the exclusive range by Chris Hawkins is dark and unconventional. The 'Dark Shark Tooth' necklace is a fantastic example of Hawkins' detailed work.
The box chain necklace is 50cm in length and is made up of chunky 1cm by 2mm links. The chain fastens using a tradition lobster claw clasp. The main feature of the piece is the 'Dark Shark Tooth' tapered pendant which is 4cm long and 2cm wide. The pendant sits suspended from the chain with a subtle elegance.
To enhance the masculine and predatory nature of this piece, the chain and the pendant have been oxidised to finish the necklace with a darkened silver colour. The dark and textured silver is a typical trait of Hawkins' jewellery style.
The pendant has been designed in the shape of a sharks tooth and is part of the 'Mako' collection from Chris Hawkins, which is inspired by the 'evolved beauty of natural predators'. It is this concept that separates his designs from other men's jewellery.
